…so many people had a hand in our success, from the teachers who inspired us to the janitors who kept our school clean...

Leadership Team
The administration, teaching faculty and support staff at PS 11 are thought leaders in their disciplines who are unyielding in their commitment to our students. They bring varied and rich experiences from many corners of the United States and around the world. All have a shared mission to equip every child with the foundation needed to be strong leaders that can go confidently forth as they live the life they imagine.
Mrs. Hope was named Principal at PS 11 in 2014, after serving as Assistant Principal at PS 11 for just shy of 10 years. A proven leader for over 25 years, an unwavering believer in being of service to our beloved PS 11 community, passionate about learning and providing a space for our children to thrive holistically. Mrs. Hope has dedicated her life and career to educating the whole child and giving children all tools and perspectives to compete as global citizens. She started her career in the classroom in the public school setting gathering valuable insights along the way. Known for her positive affirmations impressed on both her team and students she often finds her center through meditation, yoga and when she has the time, she loves to read over a steaming cup of green tea.
Mrs. Rand has always boasted that PS 11 is and remains a phenomenal school that she has been a proud member of for over twenty-five years! In her words: “It fills me with a great deal of pride to say that I have been at this school for my entire professional career and have had a hand in its continuous success - as a teacher, math coach, and now Assistant Principal. As an educator, I believe it is imperative that we truly embody the title of Lifelong Learner. It is not just the fact that all children can learn, which of course is the reality, but that it is our charge and calling as educators to guide and direct students along the path of intellectual success. As a mom of two (a PS 11 student and PS 11 Alumni) as well, I’ve always felt that an involved and informed parent can be an educator's strongest asset. As the Assistant Principal, I look forward to working with teachers to plan and implement stellar instruction, continue to encourage students to flourish academically, socially and emotionally, and partnering with parents to support their child’s academic achievement.”
Mr. Rand’s relationship with PS 11 goes back to 1995 when his eldest daughter was a Kindergarten student! Since then,he has served in a multitude of volunteer capacities: from tutor to students in need of extra academic support to PTA President and much much more! All of this prior to formally joining PS 11 staff as the Parent Coordinator over 20 years ago. Mr. Rand is truly the heartbeat of PS 11. His commitment is undeniable, his energy infectious and love of music is his gift to us all that is always giving! Everyday, Mr. Rand leverages his experience as an elementary school parent, his skillful advocacy, leadership and his relationships with countless PS 11 parents and caregivers (new and returning) that continues to foster the community feel PS 11 is known for. Mr. Rand is unrivaled in his enthusiasm for all things PS 11 and we all continue to be the fortunate recipients of his unwavering commitment to students and their families.
Teaching Faculty
Our teachers proudly take on the task of developing a carefully designed curriculum in alignment with the Common Core Learning Standards (CCLS), constantly assessing curricular goals and objectives and refining practices accordingly.
